PLOT SYNOPSIS:

Self-sufficient orphan boy Billy Coulter(Breen) stows away on a Hawaii-bound ocean liner for the adventure of it.

He instantly makes a host of new friends---including two well known screen sourpussesShip's Captain Irwin Cobb

(more famous as a newspaper humor columnist than an actor);and ship's musician "Strings"(Ned Sparks);who claims to

play "The Bulgarian Banjo".

Billy eventually ends up being adopted by naval Commander Milburn and family.

While the film is cheaply produced, there is genuine effort to present actual Hawaiian culture.
