"'Ukochany kraj'" ("Beloved Country"; also known by its incipit, "Wszystko tobie, ukochana ziemio"; "Everything for You, Beloved Land") is a poem written by Polish poet Konstanty Ildefons Gaczyski in 1953 and put to music as a song (in several versions) by . It was probably the most widespread propaganda song in Communist Poland. Together with other poets and composers, Gaczyski yielded under the pressure of authorities and wrote several things in the style of Socialist realism, including this "song for the masses" (Polish: "pie masowa"). Appealing to patriotism, the song calls for building a new Socialist Poland:"Biographical Dictionary of Central and Eastern Europe in the Twentieth Century", [https://books.google.com/books?id=RnKlDAAAQBAJ&pg=RA2-PA1911 article "Gaczyski, Konstanty Ildefons"]'Composing the Party Line: Music and Politics in Early Cold War Poland and East Germany', [https://books.google.com/books?id=pJtPDwAAQBAJ&pg=PA38&lpg=PA38 p. 38]

:Wszystko tobie ukochana ziemio,

:Nasze myli wci przy tobie s,

:Tobie lotnik tryumf nad przestrzeni,

:A robotnik daje dwoje rk.

::Everything for you, beloved land,

::Our thoughts are with you all the time,

::The pilot triumphs over the space for you,

::And the worker gives you both hands.

It is claimed that the song was considered as a replacement of "Dbrowski's Mazurka" ('Poland Is Not Yet Lost') as the national anthem of Polish People's Republic.[https://www.wprost.pl/41023/Czarownik-Galczynski "Czarownik Gaczyski"], 'Wprost', March 2, 2003

Reminiscent of this and other songs of the Socialist past, Janusz Jzefowicz directed the musical play 'Beloved Country... or Polish People's Republic in Songs' (pl) premiered in in 2001.
