'Children of the Corn' is a 2020 American supernatural slasher film written and directed by Kurt Wimmer. It is described by its producer as a free new adaptation of Stephen King's short story with "almost nothing to do" with the original 'Children of the Corn' and is the eleventh installment of the 'Children of the Corn' series. It was Wimmer's first directed film since 'Ultraviolet' in 2006.
The film premiered at two theaters in Sarasota, Florida, on October 30, 2020, with initial plans to gradually expand its release from there. It is scheduled to be released theatrically in the United States in fall 2022.
Synopsis
A psychopathic twelve-year-old girl in a small town in Nebraska recruits all the other children and goes on a bloody rampage, killing the corrupt adults and anyone else who opposes her. A bright high schooler who won't go along with the plan is the town's only hope of survival.

Production
In 2020, news reported about the film to be a remake was announced and shot in Australia, during the COVID-19 pandemic, .The producer later elaborated that it was going to be a free new adaptation to King's story with almost nothing to do with the 1984 movie.
