'Tyrel' is an American drama film written and directed by Sebastin Silva and starring Jason Mitchell, Christopher Abbott, Michael Cera, and Caleb Landry Jones.
It had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 20, 2018. It marked Reg E. Cathey's final film role. It was released on December 5, 2018 by Magnolia Pictures.
Premise
Out in a secluded cabin in the Catskill Mountains, Tyler, a young black man, joins his all white friends for a weekend of debauchery as friendships are tested.

The website's critics consensus reads: "'Tyrel' uses its seemingly innocuous setup to take an admirably uncomfortable -- albeit occasionally somewhat diffuse -- look at modern American race relations."
