'Sankashta Kara Ganapathi' is a 2018 Indian Kannada-language romantic comedy film directed by Arjun Kumar S. It is produced by Faizan Khan, and Rajesh Babu under the banner Dynamite films pvt limited. The film features Likith Shetty and Shruti Goradia in the lead roles, with Achyuth Kumar, Manjunath Hegde, Mandeep rai, Nagabhushana, Chandu B Gowda in supporting roles. The film's score and album is composed by Ritvik Muralidhar whilst the cinematography is by Uday Leela and editing is by Vijeth Chandra & Madhu Kumar.
The principal photography for the project began on 22 June 2017. The film was released all across Karnataka on 27 July 2018. Telugu remake rights of the film were sold just a few days after the film was released. As of August 2021, the Hindi remake titled 'Baayein Haath Ka Khel' was in pre-production.
Plot
A ganapati lives with his father who has taken VRS and is tensed about his son's future. Ganapati being an MBA graduate has left a job to pursue a career as cartoonist. Ganapati's friend advises him to publish his work on Social media as well as to find a job as a cartoonist.
Ganapati gets a job in a newspaper publication company as a cartoonist.
There he finds shruti who is working as a sales and marketing manager. Shruti and Ganapati were classmates during MBA period and he has a crush on her.
Ganapati's friend advises him to propose Shruti. Following his advice he goes towards her fearfully.
He gets a pitts attack due to this fear and falls on ground
Shruti noticing his condition she hospitalizes him.
Doctor on checking ganapati claims that he was tensed due to some reason.Shruti asks him the reason behind his tension. He proposes her that he liked her from college days. At the same time raghu comes inside the ward and Ganapathi gets to know that her marriage has been fixed with raghu.
Doctor cures the ganapathis illnes with the operation but it leads to some error which causes ganapathi a alien hand syndrome. This leads to the left hand of ganapathi to move without his controls.
Many bizarre events happen due to his left hand. Ganapathi helps shruti in her office works. They develop a bond between each other.
Meanwhile ganapathi draws a controversial cartoon on a politician that leads into a backlash from politicians goon, damaging the newspaper publication office.Hence the manager terminates ganapathi from the job.
Shruti supports him as she knows the reason that manager had approved the cartoon. Shruti also understands the left arm problem of ganapati.
As Shruti's marriage has been fixed ganapathi is saddened in emotional feelings, he goes to her wedding to see her last time. Shruti's father greets ganapathi and make him stand in the que. As his turn comes he goes on the stage and wishes her happy married life but his left hand uncontrollably holds her hand. Shruti's who is delighted to see him, she hugs him in front of all the guest and the marriage is called off.
This dramatic incident spreads allover the society.
Later they both meet together secreatly in her car. Meanwhile her father sees them and angrily shouts at ganapathi and asks him to come out. Shruti drives the car away from her father, but father chases them from behind.
Schokingly ganapathi's left hand turns the steering wheel fully and car crashes to a tree leaving shruti badly injured. Shruti is hospitalised and seeing her condition her father request s ganapathi to stay away from her life.
Ganapathi forgets her and joins a mythological comic publishing company as a cartoonist and gains success.
Meanwhile Shruti's father is unable ti find a groom to her daughter.
Later he marries off her daughter to Ganapathi.

Reception
The Times of India rated the film 3.5 out of 5 and stated: "Go ahead, watch Sankashta Kara Ganapathi, it is definitely that one-time watch and the laughs and novelty factor are the added bonus". The new Indian Express rated the film 3.5 out of 5 and commented: "Debutant director, Arjun Kumars Sankashta Kara Ganapathi, a romantic comedy, steers itself with ease into the minuscule league of watchable movies. This, while keeping the entertainment quotient high throughout.". Kannada prabha rated the film 3 out of 5.
