'Nesam' is a 1997 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by K. Subash starring Ajith Kumar and Maheswari, making her debut. Goundamani, Senthil and Manivannan among others play other pivotal roles in the film, which has music composed by Deva. The film released on 15 January 1997 to mixed reviews. The film was dubbed and released in Telugu as 'Prema Janta'.

Production
The film became one of the two films of 1997 in which Ajith and Maheswari were paired together, with the second collaboration being 'Ullaasam' and also being the second collaboration of Ajith and Subash after 'Pavithra'.
Release
