'Inaindha Kaigal' is a 1990 Indian Tamil-language film, directed by N. K. Vishwanathan. The film stars Ramki, C. Arunpandian, Nirosha and Sindhu, with Nassar, Senthil, Srividya, Murali Kumar and Prabhakaran playing supporting roles. The film, produced by Aabavanan who also wrote the script and lyrics, had musical score by Gyan Varma and was released on 2 August 1990. The film has been dubbed in Hindi as 'Aakhri Sangam' and in Telugu as Sahasa Ghattam.

Plot



Chandralekha (Srividya), a grieving mother, asks an ex-army man named David Kumar (C. Arunpandian) to rescue her son Gunasekaran (Prabhakaran), who is locked up in a military prison. At the same time, the hideous criminal P. K. Roy (Nassar) appoints the fugitive Pratap (Ramki) to kidnap Gunasekharan from prison. Both leave for their missions respectively, not knowing what surrender holds in his past and the fugitive takes this personal.

*Sindhu as Geetha, a trek guide.

*Srividya as Lt. Col. Chandralekha, a serving soldier with the Indian Army Medical Corps placed on house arrest after court martial on false drug-related scam.

*Nassar as P. K. Roy, a chief antagonist, an ex-Indian Army soldier involved in drug scam framing Chandralekha and indirectly responsible for making Pratap an orphan after accidentally and intentionally blewing up the helicopter, piloted by Pratap's father.

*Senthil as Mani, a waiter at a hotel.

*A. R. S. as Lawyer Shanmugam

*Prabhakaran as Gunasekaran, Chandralekha's son.

Soundtrack



The film score and the soundtrack were composed by Gyan Varma. The soundtrack, released in 1990, features eight tracks with lyrics written by Aabavanan.

Reception



'The Indian Express' called it "ambitious and vast, brash, blatantly loud, empty and diffuse but overall a good film to watch".

Legacy



The film had an extra ordinary opening and such that it created Stampedes in Shanti theatre in Coimbatore, killing 2 persons. The news, which appeared in Tamil daily Dina Thanthi was advertised as a poster for its Kerala release. In 2013 Tamil film 'Sutta Kadhai', lead heroes of that film Balaji and Venkatesh appeared as fans of Ramki and Arun Pandian. In one scene, Balaji utters the film's title referring to their collaboration on a mission.
