Plot

'Satte Pe Satta' is the story of seven brothers living on a large farmhouse who all are named after the days of the week - Som (Monday), Mangal (Tuesday), Budh (Wednesday), Guru (Thursday), Shukra (Friday), Shani (Saturday), and Ravi (Sunday). Ravi Anand (Amitabh Bachchan), being the eldest brother, raises his six younger brothers under his leadership. Being orphaned and uneducated, all of them are unsophisticated bumpkins who lack social etiquette and hygiene. They live on a farm among animals. Soon, Ravi meets a nurse named Indu (Hema Malini) when he goes to accuse her of dumping his friend Shekhar (Vijayendra Ghatge). However, he learns that the girlfriend of his friend was actually Sheela (Sarika Thakur), a nurse who works with Indu in the same hospital. Ravi falls in love with Indu and tries to woo her but she dislikes him due to his undisciplined behaviour. Therefore, he tricks her into believing that he has only one brother Shani Anand (Sachin Pilgaonkar) who is the youngest among the seven brothers. Ravi even becomes well-dressed in front of Indu who reciprocates his feelings. The two get married and Ravi takes Indu to his house. At first, she is happy that she will live in a remote area with just Ravi and Shani, away from loud noise and non-cleanliness which frightens Ravi. Indu ends up learning that Ravi has five more brothers, all uncivilized and uncouth. The brothers learn to adjust with a new girl in their house and so does Indu who decides to civilize them all. The six brothers subsequently meet six sisters at a beach and fall in love with them. The sisters are the caretakers of Seema Singh (Ranjeeta Kaur), a wealthy heiress who has paraplegia. Her uncle Ranjit Singh (Amjad Khan) has devious plans to murder her in order to gain the possession of her ancestral property. Babu (also Amitabh Bachchan), a criminal who is an exact doppelganger of Ravi, is released from the jail of Pune after several months and is hired by Ranjit to murder Seema.

Meanwhile, Ravi learns that the brothers are missing their girlfriends terribly and are not able to concentrate on their work. To make them feel better, he helps them kidnap their girlfriends their house with Seema. Indu is irritated at this but agrees to keep the girls at their house for a few more days. Ranjit learns about the girls' visit to the farmhouse and invites Ravi to his house to help him collect some clothes and medicines for Seema. While there, he is shocked to see that he resembles his sidekick Babu who is asked to impersonate Ravi with the promise of Rs. 100000 by Ranjit. Ravi is captured and imprisoned on a remote island by Ranjit's henchmen. Babu undergoes a complete makeover by colouring his hair and applying contact lenses on his eyes and transforms himself into Ravi. He then enters Ravi's house with Ravi's car and is quickly accepted by Indu and the brothers. Elsewhere, Ravi is ill-treated at the island by Ranjit who decides to frame him for Seema's murder. At Ravi's house, Babu secretly attempts to stab Seema with his dagger but due to the shock, she regains the control of her legs and is able to walk again. At this point, Babu is overcome with guilt and falls in love with Seema. During the festival of 'Karva Chauth' he reveals his real identity and Ranjit's true intentions to everyone. The brothers forgive him as he did not take advantage of Indu. Babu confesses his crime before Indu and promises her that her husband will remain alive whether he himself lives or not. The next day, he takes the brothers to the island and tries to get Ravi released from Ranjit. However, Ranjit captures them all and knocks Ravi out by beating him up severely. The brothers motivate Ravi by repeating their motto to fight against Ranjit. Ravi eventually manages to defeat Ranjit by beating him up (presumably to death) and unites with his brothers. Babu then decides to leave which causes a heartbroken Seema to lose the control of her legs again as she had fallen in love with him too. Using his dagger, Babu makes her stand up from her wheelchair and the two reunite. Ravi also reunites with Indu and the brothers marry their girlfriends.
