'Marie-Anne' is a Canadian drama film, directed by Martin Walters and released in 1978."Fil Fraser has plans to change the Canadian way of making films". 'The Globe and Mail', July 15, 1978. The film is a historical biopic of Marie-Anne Lagimodire, the first woman of European descent to settle in Western Canada and the grandmother of Louis Riel."Andree Pelletier a lady of many parts". 'The Globe and Mail', March 14, 1979.

The film stars Andre Pelletier as Marie-Anne Lagimodire and John Juliani as her husband Jean-Baptiste Lagimodire. The cast also includes Tantoo Cardinal and Gordon Tootoosis.

The film garnered two Canadian Film Award nominations at the 29th Canadian Film Awards, for Best Actor (Juliani) and Best Actress (Pelletier)."Four films nominated for Etrogs". 'The Globe and Mail', August 24, 1978.
