'Avalukendru Oru Manam' is a 1971 Indian Tamil-language film romantic drama film produced, written and directed by C. V. Sridhar. The film stars Gemini Ganesan, Bharathi, Kanchana and Muthuraman. The songs were written by Kannadasan and the music was by M. S. Viswanathan. The film was released on 18 June 1971. The film was simultaneously made in Hindi as 'Duniya Kya Jane' with a largely different cast.

Plot



The film deals with a love triangle, with a good measure of values of the high society and those of the liberal culture of the 1960s.

Production



'Avalukendru Oru Manam' was simultaneously made in Hindi as 'Duniya Kya Jane'. While choosing established actors in Tamil, Sridhar cast newcomers in Hindi to keep the budget lower.

Soundtrack



The music was composed by M. S. Viswanathan, with lyrics by Kannadasan. Ilaiyaraaja, who was Viswanathan's assistant at that time played organ for the song "Malar Edhu".
