'Jeene Ki Raah' is a 1969 Hindi-language drama film produced and directed by L. V. Prasad under the Prasad Productions Pvt. Ltd. banner. The film stars Jeetendra, Tanuja and Sanjeev Kumar and music composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. It is a remake of the Telugu film 'Bratuku Teruvu' (1953).

Plot



The film begins with Mohan returning to his village after completing his studies when he finds that they encompass the debts. So, he decides to support his joint family containing his wife Shobha, a 5-year-old daughter, a mother Janki 3 sisters & 2 brothers. Hence, he moves to the city in search of a job but fails. Disparate Mohan fortunately, meets his childhood friend Dr. Manohar who makes his acquaintance with a millionaire Kamalrai Mansukhlal and leaves abroad. Rai offers him a job provided he is single. Owing to exigency, Mohan affiliates by claiming as solitary. Meanwhile, Rai's only daughter Radha, a heart patient & paralyzed too comes back from foreign. Radha feels relief in the breezy company of Mohan and gradually regains her vigor when she falls for him. Now Mohan is under a dichotomy as he is unable to reveal the truth. Moreover, Mohan's virago elder sister Durga expels the family and they land in the city. Accidentally, Mohan spots and accommodates them at Manohar's house. Eventually, Durga & her husband Ramadas also arrive and by mischief take shelter at Sunder's residence one that aspires to espouse Radha. After a few comic incidents, they reform which Mohan witnesses and bring them back. Here, destiny makes Radha & Shobha friends when Mohan leading the dual life makes a daring effort to avoid all the parties. Then, Rai decides to couple up Radha with Mohan and plans their engagement but Mohan denies betrayal. Being cognizant of it, Shobha collapses and the entire family accuses Mohan when he decides to confess his blunder. Parallelly, envy Sundar kidnaps Radha when Mohan rescues and divulges the actuality to her. Initially, she misconstrues him but later, understands his virtue and as well as affirms it to Rai. At last, Manohar checks in and expresses his childhood love towards Radha which she too accepts. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with the marriage of Manohar & Radha.

Soundtrack



The soundtrack for this album was composed by the legendary music composer duo LaxmikantPyarelal, and won them Filmfare award for best music director in 1970. All songs written by Anand Bakshi. The song "Aane se Uske Aaye Bahar" and "Ek Banjara Gaye" sung by Mohammed Rafi became an evergreen song of the Indian music history but the winner song of Lata Mangeshkar, "Aap Mujhe Achhe Lagne Lage" faded unnoticeable.
