'Bhama Vijayam' is a 1967 Indian Telugu-language swashbuckler film, produced by Somasekhar and Radha Krishna, and directed by C.Pulliah. It stars N. T. Rama Rao and Devika, with music composed by T. V. Raju. The film is based on 'Gollabhama' (1947) which itself is based on the stories of 'Kaasi Majililu' written in Telugu by Madhira Subbanna Deekshitulu.

Plot



The film begins with a tribal girl Sundari. Once, Kamavardhana king of Kalinga out of lust attempts to rape her. Anyhow, she is secured by a Prince, Jayachandra who falls for her. But perceiving her animosity toward kingship, he introduces himself as an ordinary soldier. At present, Jayachandra safe houses her carves her as a wise lady and marries her with the assent of his parents. For a while, the couple leads a delightful life, tragically, an abyss arises by one angel Vahini, one that is infatuated with Jayachandra and gets him out of there to heaven. Therein, Vahini craves for Jayachandra but he is committed. On earth, Sundari woes for adversity. Later, Jayachandra makes a mutual consent with Vahini and calls Sundari to heaven. Here, unintentionally, the pair takes a divine nectar 'Amurtham' and becomes immortal. The next day, Sundari backs and becomes pregnant. Currently, no one believes her consummation with Jayachandra, and the king declares capital punishment. Yet, because of deathlessness, the guards fail to execute the ordinance and return departing Sundari in the forest. Later, she gives birth to baby boy Balarka who has the power of listening voices of all creatures. However, he gets misplaced, shielded by Goddess Kaali who boons him to King Udayarka. Due to the wheel of fortune, Sundari lands at a house of prostitution and faces so hard on herself. Twenty years roll by, and in due course, Jayachandra frees from the clutches of Vahini, restores and divulges the truth to his elders. Right now, Jayachandra proceeds in search of Sundari. Thereby, Sundari didnt lose her magnificence but protects her chastity. At one point, she is acquainted with her son Balarka and recognizes him. The same night, he gets to know her when he hears a conversation between a cow & calf that a man in lust cannot recognize the relationship. Then, Sundari is unable to face him, so, jumps into the fire, but she is safeguarded by Jayachandra. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with the reunion of the family.
