'sa-Nisse' is a 1949 Swedish comedy film directed by Ragnar Frisk and starring John Elfstrm, Artur Roln and Emy Hagman. Featuring the popular character sa-Nisse it was the first in a long-running series, featuring nineteen sequels.'Historical Dictionary of Scandinavian Cinema' p.62 It takes place in rural Smland.Nordic National Cinemas p.181 Location shooting took place at Skir outside Vetlanda. The film's sets were designed by the art director Bertil Duroj.
