'The Barber of Seville' (French: 'Le Barbier de Sville') is a French film directed by Jean Loubignac released in 1948.[http://cinema-francais.fr/les_films/films_l/films_loubignac_jean/le_barbier_de_seville.htm Le Cinma Franais site], retrieved 29 July 2013 It is a screen version of the 1816 opera by Rossini based on the 1775 play by Beaumarchais (in the translation by Castil-Blaze).
