'Inspector Hornleigh Goes To It' is a 1941 British detective film directed by Walter Forde and starring Gordon Harker, Alastair Sim, Phyllis Calvert and Edward Chapman. It was the third and final film adaptation of the Inspector Hornleigh stories.

It was released in America by 20th-Century Fox under the title 'Mail Train'.

Plot summary

Hornleigh and Sergeant Bingham join the army in an effort to uncover a ring of German spies.

Horneligh and assistant Bingham are relegated to a "minor" assignment of investigating supply pilfering at an Army base.

This grows into a full-fledged investigation of a spy ring. The word "Nazi" is never spoken;the spies are all British Fifth-Columnists.

The knottiest problem is an enemy short-wave set that never broadcasts from the same place twice;even though the equipment should be too heavy to move from place to place.

It is eventually discovered that the set is aboard a moving mail train that makes daily runs along the British coastline.

When a dentist's office is being searched,Sim has to play dentist and do actual work on a patient so Hornleigh can continue his search without being detected.
