'Cocktail Hour' is a 1933 American Pre-Code romantic drama film produced and distributed by Columbia Pictures and starring Bebe Daniels. Plot summary

is a successful wealthy attractive talented illustrator for major magazines living the highlife in a fashionable New York City penthouse throwing boozy cocktail parties for herself and her many mostly male friends. Proud of her accomplishments and her independence she has no interest in marriage or children though she has many suitors professing love for her and wanting to marry her. Planning on a vacation to Europe she throws herself a going away party and plans to leave on the ship at midnight but her boss Randolph Morgan calls and insists she bring over her latest leggy cigarette ad illustration before she leaves. He professes love for her and locks her in the

bathroom when she attempts to leave thru the wrong door. A watchman hears her screams and lets her out. She makes it to her ship and her large state suite for one last party before departure. Randolph shows up at the end of the party and tells he wants to marry her and leaves. During the trip Cynthia falls for William Lawton a fellow wealthy passenger who takes her for a "sporting girl" and they have a night of passionate sex. While getting off the ship he informs her he is happily married and can only see her on the sly. She and her singer friend Olga decide to go out to a bar and get "cockeyed" and wake up several days later uncertain what day it is. At a party given by her friend Princess de Longville William shows up with his wife and snubs her. Later at her hotel William shows up and a jealous suitor assaults him and leaves him for dead. Finally Randolph shows up and pretends he doesn't care about her just wants more illustrations for his magazine. This drives her crazy and makes her realize how much she loves him until finally he asks her to marry him and they live happily ever after(?)
