Wikipedia article

"'Jupiter'" is a song composed by English artist Benjamin Clementine. The song was released on 23 August 2017. It was released as the first single from his second studio album 'I Tell a Fly'. The song marks Clementine's comeback since 2015's 'At Least for Now', although 2017 had seen the non-single release of the songs "Phantom of Aleppoville" and "God Save the Jungle", respectively. "Jupiter" was written and produced by Benjamin Clementine.

Background and recording

Talking to Lauren Laverne on BBC 6 music, Clementine explained that "Seeing my visa just opened everything for me. Saying 'Jupiter' for me was like saying 'Europa,' or 'England,' or 'Edmonton'. Me wandering around in America." In conversation with Milo Wasserman for Clash Magazine, Clementine stated that whilst he was in America, he stored this idea of being an alien, being in a foreign land.
