'Underground' is a 1928 British silent drama film directed by Anthony Asquith and starring Brian Aherne, Elissa Landi, Cyril McLaglen, and Norah Baring. The film examines the lives of ordinary Londoners and the romance between them, set on and around the London Underground.

Plot

Production



'Underground' was made by British Instructional Films at Elstree and Cricklewood StudiosRyall p.170 and on location in London including scenes shot at Lots Road Power Station in Chelsea.Ryall p.3 The film was based on an original scenario written by Asquith.Ryall p.8

Restoration



'Underground' was restored in 2009 under the auspices of the British Film Institute (BFI).
