'The Leopard' ('Kuzdelem a letert'/ translation: 'The Struggle For Life') is a 1918 Hungarian film directed by Alfrd Desy and featuring Bla Lugosi, Ila Loth and Klara Peterdy. It is listed in many reference sources under its Hungarian title, 'The Struggle for Life' ('Kuzdelem a letert'), which some sources used to erroneously list as a separate film. The film was first shown at the Mozgokep-Otthon Theater in Budapest on 16 July 1918.Bela Lugosi: Dreams and Nightmares by Gary D. Plot



Orlay Pal (Bela Lugosi), a ruthless architect, is willing to do anything to further his career. He ruins the lives of two lovers, one a rich countess and the other a girl from a poor family. Just when he has attained success, he is shot dead by the poor girl's father.
