Wikipedia article

'Cromwell' is an 1820 verse tragedy by Honor de Balzac. When it was finished, it was reviewed by a man named Andrieux, the former tutor of Eugne Surville, Balzac's sister. On the manuscript, Andrieux wrote: "The author should do anything he likes, but not literature."Quoted in Robb, 60.
